What kind of travel do you cover?
We cover the soulful kind of travel that sits silent beneath all the noise of the hyped, mainstream tourist spots; think a slow morning in a small cafe, a boutique inn you didn’t know existed in a popular tourist place, an artisan shop tucked in the corner of a street. In short, we follow feeling, not flags.
Are you a traditional travel guide?
Not really. In fact, we’re anti-guides, we’re a soft corner of the internet for the escapists, the dreamers, the ones who want to get beautifully lost, and maybe find themselves in the process.
Who is this magazine for?
SLUB Magazine is for the slow traveller, the soft explorer, the culture-dweller, and the quietly curious. If you find poetry in train rides, old bookstores, or local art and architecture, you belong here.
What do you mean by “deep travel”?
Deep travel is not about how far you go, it’s about how intensely you feel. It is presence over pace, meaning over milestones, and letting a place move through you.
Do you accept submissions or creator collaborations?
Yes, if you carry a story in your suitcase, a memory in your lens, or a poem in your passport, we’d love to hear from you. Soulful creator pitches are always welcome! Write to us at editors@slubmagazine.com.
How can I stay connected with you?
Follow us on Instagram @slubmagazine, or sign up for our occasional love letter, a quiet dispatch from someplace far away, written like a postcard and emailed with love.
Do you recommend places to stay or eat?
Only the ones that feel like a long exhale, you know… guesthouses with history, meals with meaning, spaces that speak in textures and feelings. We feature places that stay with you, long after you leave.
Can I advertise with you?
Sure, if your space holds stories, invites slowness, warmth, and wonder, we’d be honoured to help you share it. We collaborate with properties and brands that feel like home to the soul.
Are your stories based on real experiences?
Always. Everything we write comes from footsteps taken, conversations shared, and moments felt deeply. We tell the truth, tenderly.
Why do you focus on ‘quiet’ places?
Because sometimes, the world gets too loud, and we believe beauty lives in stillness, in backstreets, empty cafes, and overlooked corners. These, we believe, are the places that whisper, not shout, and we’re here to listen.
Do you feature well-known destinations?
Sometimes. But always differently. We seek the hidden within the known, the alley in Rome, not the Colosseum, the calm in Kyoto, not the headlines.
I would love to work with you. Are you hiring?
We’re a small, heart-led team building something slow and meaningful.
A bunch of writers, creators, editors, and dreamers, if you think you belong here, write to us. We would love to know the real you, so tell us who you are, not just what you’ve done.
Do you write for solo travelers?
Yes, especially for those who travel alone but feel deeply connected. Our stories are written like letters so you never feel quite so far away, even when you are.
Why do your posts feel like poetry?
Because we believe travel is poetry lived, not just written. We have personally seen how sometimes, a single line can hold an entire city, its breeze, scent, and memory; we just help put it into words.
